On 7th July, Bishop Rod ordained 3 presbyters and 6 deacons to serve in London diocese. Bishop Rod and Bishop Sarah, bishop of London, are pictured here with all those ordained.
On 4th July, Bishop Rod ordained two Deacons – Al Horn and Glenn Nesbit both of whom are to serve at St Ebbe’s Church, Oxford. Rod is pictured here with Al and Glenn.
On Sunday 4th July Bishop Rod spent the day in Oxford ordaining and confirming. He confirmed 5 candidates at a service where his sermon was based on Matthew 13: 31-35. Rod is pictured here with the candidates.
Andrew Bellis was ordained presbyter at a service held at St Peter’s Harold Wood on 28th June. The service was jointly led by Bishop Rod and Bishop Peter, the bishop of Barking. The photograph shows Andrew and his wife with the two bishops.
At Sheffield Cathedral on 27th June, Rod ordained Matt Lawe as Presbyter. Matt is serving his curacy at Christ Church Fulwood. Matt is pictured here with Bishops Pete, Rod and Sophie.
Bishop Rod and his pastoral adviser for the Northern Province, David Banting, met with Archbishop Stephen (pictured here) on 24th May. The meeting was extremely helpful in moving towards a common understanding of what Bishop Rod’s role might be for parishes requesting episcopal ministry from the Bishop of Maidstone under the current arrangements. Following the lifting of relevant restrictions, confirmation services are able to be held again. Bishop Rod confirmed 20 candidates at St Nicholas Sevenoaks at a service on 9 May.
