Bishop Rod’s retirement on 2nd October 2022 was marked by a service of thanksgiving held at Oak Hill College on 1st October. The service included reflections on Bishop Rod’s ministry from the Bishop of London, Sarah Mullally and from Johnny Juckes, Principal of Oak Hill College. Bishop Rod has recently ordained in Lichfield Diocese: Iain Lingwood and Scott Seivewright, both as Presbyter and Sheffield Diocese: Rob Mullock as Deacon. Bishop Rod has been holding a series of 5 regional meetings around the country under the title: Future Flourishing. Topics included a review of Rod’s ministry over 7 years, and a session led by Church Society on Women in Ministry. The meetings will have been attended by around 260 delegates.
Bishop Rod attended the opening of the new building at Dundonald on 6th March and gave a Bishop’s Charge, challenging the congregation to proclaim the gospel. Pictured here is the new church auditorium.
On 7 Nov, Bishop Rod preached on 1 Corinthians 15: 12-28 at a Memorial Service at St Andrew Bostall Heath. This service is held annually to allow people to remember and cherish memories of loved ones and is aimed particularly at families of those for whom funerals have been conducted.
