A member of St John’s writes: On Sunday 15 November we welcomed Bishops Rod (Maidstone) and Karen (Sherborne) for an important discussion on the future shape and direction of the Church of England. Together with the vicar, Peter, they helped us explore some of the opportunities and challenges that we are facing. The Bishops introduced
Bishop Rod’s final ordination of the year took place at Emmanuel Wimbledon on Saturday 17th Oct. Josh Skidmore, curate at Emmanuel, was ordained Presbyter.
On 28th September, Bishop Rod ordained Ben Tanner, curate at Christ Church Endcliffe as Presbyter and Matthew Lawes, curate at Christ Church Fulwood as Deacon at a service held at Sheffield Cathedral. Bishop Rod is pictured here with Matthew and Ben.
On 20th September, Andy Liggins was instituted as Vicar of St Simon and St Jude Southport at a service taken by Bishop Beverley Mason, Bishop of Warrington. Rod preached on Luke 1: 26-38. Andy is pictured here with his family.

Bishop Rod ordained Will Eley as presbyter at a service at St Giles Derby on Sunday 11th October. On Saturday 19th September, Bishop Rod ordained Ian Miller as Presbyter at his home church of St Mary’s Maidenhead. This was the first of five ordinations which Rod is taking this year for a total of eight presbyters and five deacons.
On 8th March, Bishop Rod confirmed ten people at Christ Church Cockfosters. He preached on Ephesians 6: 10-24, The Armour of God. Rod is pictured here with the candidates.
