CONFIRMATION AT DUNDONALD CHURCH

Bishop Rod confirmed 3 people at Dundonald Church in south west London on 21st July. Rod’s sermon was on Hebrews 11: 29-40 – Faith survives success & failure.

ORDINATION AND CONFIRMATION AT ST GILES NORMANTON, DERBY

Bishop Rod visited St Giles on 7th July to take both an ordination and a confirmation. In the morning Steve Boswell was ordained presbyter and Will Eley was ordained deacon. In the evening Bishop Rod confirmed 10 candidates.

Confirmation at St Nicholas Sevenoaks

Rod confirmed 36 people at a service at St Nicholas Sevenoaks on 24th March. Candidates came from St Nicholas, St Mary Kemsing, St Mary Riverhead and St Katharine Knockholt. Rod preached on Ephesians 3: 14-21.

Grace Greenwich licensing as a BMO

Grace Church Greenwich was licensed as a BMO at a service on 3rd February. Bishop Christopher, bishop of Southwark and Bishop Rod were both present. Why Get Ordained event at Oak Hill College

Rod joined Johnny Juckes, President of Oak Hill, at this event for those thinking of being ordained in the Church of England. The event was held at Oak Hill College and is being repeated in Manchester on 2nd February 2019.

Accommodation is not Guidance

On Tuesday 11th December the House of Bishops published ‘Pastoral Guidance for use in conjunction with the Affirmation of Baptismal Faith in the context of gender transition.’ Whilst sharing the desire to show pastoral care, the content of the Guidance causes me deep concern and I support the request from the Bishops of the Society
