A member of St John’s writes:
On Sunday 15 November we welcomed Bishops Rod (Maidstone) and Karen (Sherborne) for an important discussion on the future shape and direction of the Church of England. Together with the vicar, Peter, they helped us explore some of the opportunities and challenges that we are facing. The Bishops introduced themselves and told us something of their Christian experience through life, their thoughts about how church has been through the pandemic and then went on the answer questions posted by members of St John’s. The topics were challenging: climate change, abortion and church unity. The Bishops also shared their hopes for the future for churches in this country. It was an interesting and encouraging conversation, well worth listening to again.
The interview with the Bishops and the talk which followed by the Curate, Matt Lee, speaking on 1 Peter 2: 4-10, can be listened to here.
